Product details
This sticker on vehicles is intended to enhance traffic safety and to alert pedestrians and cyclists that the vehicle has a blind spot, and therefore they may be out of the driver's line of sight for a brief moment.
Which sticker should be used
Since motorhomes are vehicles for carrying people (and not goods), stickers with the bus symbol must be used. Stickers with the motorhome symbol do not meet legal requirements and are not an official version. Violating the regulation risks a fine of EUR 135.00.
Correct placement of the blind spot stickers (for motorhomes over 3.5 t in France)
At the rear (only on the right side): The sticker must be placed at a height between 0.9 m and 1.5 m. On the sides (left and right): The stickers must be placed within 1.0 m from the front, at a height between 0.9 m and 1.5 m. If it is technically impossible to place the stickers according to the regulations, they must be placed as close to the regulations as possible; in this case, the stickers may be placed at a maximum height of 2.1 m above the ground.
All identification marks and inscriptions on the vehicle must remain visible
The sticker must not cover any lights of the vehicle and must not obstruct the driver's view. Do not stick on side or rear windows. The regulation applies to vehicles (trucks, buses, and motorhomes) and trailers over 3.5 t. For a caravan combination, the sticker must be applied whenever the towing vehicle or the caravan (calculated separately) exceeds a total weight of 3.5 t. If neither the towing vehicle nor the caravan weighs more than 3.5 t in total, a sticker is not required.
The dangers of the blind spot
The blind spot refers to the area that is outside the driver's field of view in the rear mirror, even when the driver turns their head and body for a better view.
